Eating Out
A metre of Pizza at 'Sotto Sopra'
A large Pasta Lunch at Bar Punta 'Colomion'
Eating Out is definitely one of the key reasons to holiday in Italy, and
Bardonecchia is no exception.
The Town has a great range of bars, cafes and pizzerias that we haven't yet
finished the enjoyable job of exploring.
However, we have 'discovered' the following which have all been superb and we
recommend heartily:
 | Pizza ordered by the metre at 'Sotto Sopra', a 2
minute walk from the apartment. Perfect for long/social lunches and
dinners in a child friendly environment. |
 | 'La Baita': opposite the train station, serves great
value meals and is open evenings till late. Always busy so wise to
book in advance or go early. |
 | 'Stella Alpini': Under the train subway and
immediately on the right. Superb menu with must haves including the
Russian Salad and home made 'Grissini' (Bread Sticks) |
 | 'La Frontiera': At the bottom of the main street in a
renovated basement. Great setting for delicious Pizza and Pasta. |
 | 'Bar Smith': At the Campo Smith lift. Perfect for
lunches both outside on the terrace and inside. High quality food from
the self service restaurant. |
 | 'Hotel des Genys': A nice, slightly formal hotel dining
room for a reasonably priced 3 course fixed price menu. Must book in
advance. |
 | Bar 'Punta Colomion' at 2100m. Great for pre,
during, and apres-ski. Must haves include the only English cooked
breakfast in Bardonecchia and the six-shot 'grappa' ski. Torch lit
descents can also be arranged from here (best not to do after the grappa!). |
 | Picnics: Of course you could just choose to buy delicious
ingredients from the many delicetessans or the local market. |
